But today, tables have turned. Today, we live in a modern world where updates has to be made timely and checking notifications is necessary. This is why people tend to put their phones near them while they sleep. But have you ever thought that gadgets may really control you?
To be in the trend when it comes to gadgets, some applies for loan and some are using their parent's credit cards. But it all boils down to the question: is it worth it?
Using gadgets like computers and cellphones before you go to sleep can slowly wipe you out? Scary right? But we have to know what are the effects of using these gadgets in our bodies.
Why does it rub us out? This is because our bodies takes time to adapt. Due to the fast changes that is happening, our bodies eventually fail in adapting to those changes.
Since gadgets are now a trend, it keeps everyone asleep during the day and awake during the night. This is so wrong. Why? Because our bodies need sunlight and darkness. Melatonin is only produced by our bodies in darkness. Melatonin controls the circidian rythm of our body that is responsoble for controlling our waking and sleeping cycles.
Let's be honest, even though the lights are finally off, we still grab our phones and check our phones for notifications. If you continue on doing this, you expose your brain to artificial lights that suppresses the production of melatonin.
Experts says that people with low melatonin are prone to cancer and other illness because melatonin shields our cells from being damaged.
For you to avoid melatonin suppression, you must prevent using gadgets before sleeping. Just turn it off hours before you sleep. Most especially make sure that your body is able to get the sunlight that it usually need, so don't turn your night time into day time and day time into night time.
